Ardyce M. Boland

Ardyce M. Boland, 89, Green Bay resident, died peacefully, April 27, 2013 at a local care facility. She was born March 31, 1924 in Princeton, WI to the late Edward G. and Gladys (Janson) Purfuerst. Ardyce was raised in Shorewood, WI, graduating from Shorewood High School and Milwaukee State Teachers College. She moved to Green Bay where she was an art supervisor in the Green Bay school system. Ardyce married Richard H. Boland on November 16, 1946 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In 1979 they moved to Gulf Breeze, Florida to enjoy their retirement. Richard preceded her in death in 1991. Ardyce returned to Green Bay in 2005 taking up residence at Morraine Ridge.

She was a member of the Green Bay Service League Auxiliary and a member and past president of the Premontre (Notre Dame) High School Mother's Club. Ardyce was involved with the Gulf Breeze Driftwood Garden Club, a charter member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts and a founding member of the Gulf Breeze Arts, Incorporated. She was a juried artist in New York and Florida and was quite generous with her work. Ardyce donated many pieces for charitable causes and gifted many pieces to family and friends. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish.

Ardyce is survived by her five children: Mark R. and Colleen (Zeller) Boland; Susan (Toonen) Vorpahl and Kent Vorpahl, all of Green Bay; Bruce Boland, Pensacola, FL; John M. and Ann (Streckert) Boland, Green Bay and Richard H. "Hank" Boland and his wife Elizabeth Dowling, Chicago, IL; six grandchildren: Timothy M. (Michelle) and Emily H. Boland; Samantha (Nick) Toonen-Allard and Melissa Toonen; Adrianne M. (Brian) Teeters and Christopher (Maggie) Boland; six great grandchildren: Brayden and Ellie Sue Allard, Aurelia and Richard O. Boland; Noah and Isaac Teeters.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Monday. Visitation will continue after 10:00 AM on Tuesday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Ln., until time of mass. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Tuesday at the church with Rev. James Dillenburg officiating. Entombment at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
