Arlen D. Schall
Arlen Dean Schall, 76, passed away on November 16, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Arlen was born to Ivan and Virginia Schall on October 28, 1937 on a farm in Elmcreek, Nebraska--13 miles from anywhere. After graduating from high school in Ravenna at the age of 17, he joined the US Navy and proudly served as a cryptologist for 18 years. He retired in 1973 as a Chief Petty Officer after serving in the Philippines, London, Vietnam(USS Oxford), and Morocco. Arlen then founded RE/MAX Horizons Property Management and began a second career in real estate with his beloved wife Eileen up until his retirement in 1994. Arlen was a card carrying member of the NRA and a proud member of the Krewe of Lafitte.
Arlen was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Eileen Schall. He is survived by his three children, Kim Schall of Pensacola and her husband Joe Rishel, Tracy Schall of Panama City, Panama and her husband Kurt Shultz, and Matt Schall of Pensacola and his wife Judy; four grandchildren, Alexis Shirk-Bahnmaier and her husband Aaron Bahnmaier, Carmen Shultz, Logan Schall and Yeison Shultz; great granddaughter, Lilith Bahnmaier; and siblings Irwin Schall, Marilyn Trimble, Lavern Schall, and Lavonne Pruitt.
Arlen was a man of honor and integrity and he will be deeply missed. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Although Arlen's love for his family was unsurpassed, his passion for knives, guns and the NRA came a close second. His love of the outdoors included boating, fishing and hunting and he was an accomplished archer and marksman. Squirrels in Pensacola can rest easier now without fear of Arlen's NRA-inspired retribution for raiding his beloved bird feeders.
The family would like to especially thank Alicia, Brooke, Sunny, Janet, Derek, Antoinette and Pam from The Health Center of Pensacola for the care and dignity that all of you provided for our Dad. Additionally, a heartfelt thank you to Annie from Covenant Hospice for helping to make a very difficult time much easier for Arlen and our family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel located at 3351 Scenic Highway.
