The Guest Book is expired.
Much loved and loving husband, father and friend Bill Cubley went to live with the Lord on Good Friday, after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Bethea Cubley.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Jo and two wonderful sons, Clay and Travis Cubley, mother Louise Cubley, brothers Bob (Mary) Cubley, Clellan (Linda) Cubley, Nelson Cubley, foster brothers Ron (Jane) Reid, Willie (Tina) Reid, Aunt Helen LeBlanc, Aunt Ruth Byrd and dozens of cousins, nieces and nephews, all of Hattiesburg MS; brother-in-law Jim Westmoreland, of Tulsa, sisters-in-law Janice (Jerry) Lipscomb of Magnolia Springs AL, Bonita (Steve) Seelig of Houston TX, Sara (Rick) Mullins of Dunedin FL, the deceased Ruth (Dick) Ingram of San Diego CA, and scores of nieces and nephews who dearly loved him because he showed his love for them in so many ways, and hundreds of friends, including Adopted Uncle Peanut Crawley, in Hattiesburg MS and Pensacola FL.
Bill never met a stranger; a kinder and more humble person is rare. His restaurant, Cub's Crawfish, has grown to be a success because of his personality first, his awesome crawfish second. Bill lit up a room by his presence, and had everyone laughing within seconds. A truly funny person who is now gone from us, and we are all sorry for his passing. The vast number of all who have gone out of the way to express sympathy and offers of help and prayers have been astounding, and gratefully appreciated. His ashes will be spread along the Bouie River on the family property is Hattiesburg.
His memorial service was April 4, with standing room only. You will be sorely missed, Bill, but what memories we have of you! I love you Bill! I hope to see you again soon!
