Bobby Thomas Johns

1936-2013

Bobby Thomas Johns, well known as Mekko Bearheart, Chief of the Perdido Bay Tribe of Southeastern Lower Muscogee Creeks, passed peacefully at home, Sunday morning, February 3, 2013 following a long illness. He was 76.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marian Maddox Johns; three children, Robert F. Johns of Pensacola, Christopher B. Johns, and Cynthia Johns O'Herron of Warner Robins, GA; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph Johns of New Salem, MA and Randell E. Johns of Elberta, AL; sister, Louise Johns of Eastman, GA and a large extended family.

A Memorial Celebration of his life will be planned for the near future.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Perdido Bay Tribe (PBT) to honor and support the continuation of Mekko Bearheart's life work may be sent to PBT, 125 Polonious Parkway, Pensacola, FL 32506.
