Charles Ozer



Charles Ozer Tibbs, Sr. was born on September 27, 1935 in Pensacola, Florida to Tommie Harry Tibbs and Eliza Phillips Tibbs. Charles accepted Christ at a very young age. He was a member and faithful servant of Jehovah Lutheran Church for 77 years. Charles served as an Elder, Usher, and member of the Choir. Charles attended Booker T. Washington High School and graduated with the class of 1954. Charles enlisted in the United States Army and served his country from 1955 to 1957. Charles retired from Armstrong World Industries after 34 years of faithful service. Charles was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and gardener his entire life. Most of all Charles had an unwavering love for his family.

Charles married the love of his life Rosa Mary Calhoun in 1958. They were blessed with 5 loving children, Charlotte Tibbs Lunsford, Annette Tibbs Millender, Arleen Tibbs Sanders (Cleophus), Charles Tibbs Jr., and Tommy Eric Tibbs, Sr. (Michelle). Charles also had 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He has two surviving sisters Josephine Tibbs Marvary and Francis Tibbs Anderson (James); four sister-in-laws and two brother-in-laws.

Charles transitioned to his spiritual resting place in the early hours of November 3, 2012. Preceding him in death was his Grandson Tyrone Kareem Davis.

His love, support and friendship will be missed by all who knew him. The memory of our loved one will forever live in our hearts.
