Col. John E. "Jack" Stenger

1921-2014

John E. "Jack" Stenger, age 92 of Pensacola, passed away on March 26, 2014. Jack was a retired Colonel from the US Army where he was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Col (ret.) Stenger was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Marjorie W. Stenger; also two granddaughters, Amy Todd and Krista Adams. He was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church and an 18 year resident of Azalea Trace. Jack is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Warren) Todd; son, John (Mary Ellen) Stenger, Jr.; two grandchildren, Laura (Adrien) Widman and Andrew Todd; grandson-in-law, Doug Adams; four great grandchildren, Luke Adams, Grace Adams, Gabriel Widman and Amelia Widman. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 30 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 9:00 am at Holy Cross Episcopal Church with the burial to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at 11:45 am. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Azalea Trace Heritage Fund. Condolences may be left at www.easterngatememorial.com.
