On November 10, 2012 a beautiful leaf fell from the tree of life, and returned home to her Heavenly Father.
Dara Annette Drayton was born to Evelyn Davis and P. Clarence Drayton, both of whom preceded her in passing. Her grandson, LaDarius Drayton also preceded her in passing.
She was born in Jacksonville, FL and was educated in the Duval County School System. Dara lived her adult life in Pensacola, FL where she met lifelong friends and made a life for her family.
Dara was employed by the Escambia County School Board, and was an employee at Bellview Middle School at the time of her death.
Dara was a very active member of her church, as Director of the Children's Church Ministry, she was also part of the Kitchen Ministry, the Praise Team and the Ushers Ministry. For more than 20 years she was also an active part of the East Pensacola Rattlers Cheerleading Organization. Her honesty, patience, dedication, and love for children will be missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, grandchildren, siblings, aunt, uncle, nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with a host of friends, co-workers, students, and cheerleaders.
Trahan Family Funeral Home, 419 Yoakum Court, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Zion Hope P.B. Church, 201 W. Leonard St. Elder Michael R. Thomas of the Fountain of Life Community Church will be officiating.
Visitation will also be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012 at the funeral home.
