David Alan Sawyer

David Alan Sawyer, 51, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012.

He started his life journey in Groton, MA and moved to Pensacola at age 14. After high school he enlisted in the USAF.

He loved his family, fishing, NASCAR, and hockey games, especially the Bruins.

He was predeceased by brother, Bryan Sawyer; father, Elmer Sawyer, Jr; grandparents, Edythe and Richard Sullivan and Helen and Elmer Sawyer, Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jackie Sawyer; step-children, Amy McConnell, Houston and George Powe; and granddaughter, Clorisa Powe, Houston.

He was loved and will be greatly missed by, mother and stepfather, Patricia (Sullivan) and David Stefl, Morriston, FL; brothers, Dale Sawyer, Elgin TX; Bruce Sawyer (and wife, Janie), Port Huron, MI; sisters, Darlene (Sawyer) Galloway (and husband, Tracy), Katy TX; Jean (Jones) Russell, Pensacola, FL; Lillian (Jones) Steyne, Pensacola, FL; nieces and nephews, Heather, Jordan, Robert, Michael, Kimberly and Krystal.

A graveside service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:15 followed by a memorial service at West Pensacola Baptist Church, 5213 W. Jackson St, Pensacola, FL, with a reception to follow.

Condolence cards may be sent to Jackie Sawyer, c/o Lillian Steyne, 7480 Shanandoah Rd, Pensacola, FL 32526.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in David's name to Covenant Hospice Hillside, 10075 Hillview Dr, Pensacola, FL 32514-5469.
