Dorothea Brady


Dorothea Roach Brady passed away Friday, August 24, 2012. She was born May 17, 1913 in New York City to William and Ellen Dennis Roach.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Brady Bernhard of Pensacola Beach; her sons, William J. (Deborah) Brady of Midlothian, VA and Thomas M. (Martha) Brady of Pensacola; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Brady in 1952 and grandson, William Brady, Jr. in 2010; her sisters, May O'Sullivan, Margaret Schaeffer and Vera Doyle; her brothers, John, Daniel, William and Arthur Roach.

She moved her family to Pensacola in 1952 where she was employed as Office Manager of Mort O'Sullivan Pontiac. She was later employed as a bookkeeper for automobile and insurance firms. She enjoyed her membership in Zonta International (former President), Mother Seton Guild at Sacred Heart Hospital, St. Thomas More Altar Society, Sanctuary Society of Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, The Women's Club of Pensacola, the Women's Board of Baptist Health Care Foundation (where she formed and operated the Hospital Gift Shop for several years), Pensacola Symphony Orchestra Guild and the Pensacola Country Club.

Visitation will be held at 10:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00am on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Mort O'Sullivan III, Dr. Joseph Thornhill, Kevin Hudson, William Hudson, Robert Bernhard, III and Scott McDuffie.

If you wish, Masses would be appreciated and memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504.

The family sincerely thanks Dr. Amos Prevatt, Carpenter's Creek Assisted Living and Pacifica Senior Living for all their tender care over the last several years.
