Dorothy A. Cresswell
Another member of the Greatest Generation has passed. Dorothy A. Cresswell died December 10, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. She was born December 8, 1924 in Greenwood, MS, to William and Pearl Hanbery, joining two brothers and four sisters, all who predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her husband, Forrest V. Cresswell and son Christopher Cresswell.
Surviving are daughter Nancy Cogdill, sons and daughters-in-law Forrest and Sally Cresswell and Mark and Wendy Cresswell, daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Eddie Schoppmeyer, as well as 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy was a Navy wife who moved to Pensacola in 1965 and was a loyal member of the Fleet Reserve Association Ladies Auxiliary. She was loved by all and affectionately known as "Grandma Dot".
Visitation will be Friday, December 13, at 2:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 7253 Plantation Road, Pensacola. Interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery on Tuesday, December 17 at 1:15 PM.
