Edna C. Gent

1923-2012

Our beautiful mother, grandma, great grandma and a friend to many, left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father after a long battle with cancer. Edna (Lelia Delhomme) Mall was born in the New Orleans area and was soon adopted by loving parents. In 1982 we started searching for her biological family. They were found in 2010 in LA. Mom was able to make a trip to Beaux Bridge, LA for a big welcome home party at Mulates, where she met her nephews, cousins and the brother she always wanted. Even though her time with them was short, it was something she cherished. Edna was a member of the Warrington Elkettes for many years and the American Legion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert. F. Gent, her adoptive parents, George and Hilda Mall, Her birth mother, Lorita Delhomme, her birth father, Alfred Walters; sister, Rosie Goodrich; seven brothers and two sisters from the Walter's Family and her best friend Elizabeth (Libby) Busbee.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Linda Martel, Charlotte (Bob) Weber, Debbie (Terry) Parker; sons, Jerry (Ruby) Lambert, Ronnie (Judy) Lambert; brother, Jimmy (Cynthia) Walters. Her grandkids, Cynthia Peeterse, Karen (Dan) Ahler, Kevin Lambert, Laura (Bobby) Reyes, Kimberly (Mike) Lambert, David (Taxie) Lambert, Scotty Rippen, Jimmy (Corrine) Grubbs, Leah (Jeremy) Goldman, Chris Parker, LeeAnn (James) Skipper, Peter D'Agostino, Billy (Kim) D'Agostino, Bobby Weber; 12 great grandkids and two great-great grandkids and her beloved Boston Terrier Baby; her cousins Florence Raines, George Mall and Chris (Anita) Matras; sister-in-laws, Aiga Gent, Marie (Deigo) Gent, Charlotte Clemmons; nephews, Raymond (Karen) Goodrich, Bobby Goodrich and Ronny (Judie) Goodrich; and good friend Irene Helton. Thank you to all her Bingo and game friends at Grotto Hall and all friends who stopped by, sent cards and called. A special thanks to Dr. Manning Hanline, Dr Carletto Collins and the staff at Regency Hospice who made moms last days as comfortable as possible. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Oak Lawn Funeral Home on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 10:00 am with Pastor Christopher Cole from Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. The grandsons will be the pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that remembrance be made to Regency Hospice, 4900 Bayou Blvd Suite 101, Pensacola, FL 32503, the Humane Society or a .
