Fay U. Day

Fay U. Day of Pensacola passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, September 5, 2013.

Fay was an active member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Poppy Garden Club. She was known for her gift of gardening and flower arranging and had worked for several local florists over the years. She loved the local waters and enjoyed lively games of cards and Scrabble.

Fay was a loving mother, doting grandmother, and selfless friend. We will deeply miss her trademark laugh, colorful fashion sense, kind heart, and devotion to her family.

Fay was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Thomas Edward Day and her daughter Nancy Russell. Her granddaughter Lucy Parker followed and passed away on September 10, 2013. Fay is survived by her children, Ted (Lan), Richard (Gail), Steven (Kathleen), BettyRuth Parker, Michael (Christine), G. Larry Russell (son-in-law) and grandchildren Kathryn Parker Andreas (Eric), Rebecka Parker, Stephanie and Nicholas Day, Caroline, Melanie and Caitlin Day, and other family members and friends.

Fr. John Licari will offer a Mass celebrating Fay's life at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bellview on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 10:00 AM. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center at St. Ann's.

The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the kind staff of the Haven of Our Lady of Peace for the loving care they showed to Fay. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Haven of Our Lady of Peace.
