Hilda Sikes Padgett
Hilda Sikes Padgett, a 75 year old resident of Pensacola, died Thursday, May 23, 2013.
Mrs. Padgett was born in Hacoda, Alabama on December 20, 1937 to Harvey and Macie Sikes. She was a graduate of Walton High School in DeFuniak Springs. She was a loving mother and devoted wife to her beloved husband of 46 years. She and Payton owned and ran Shoreline Seafood Restaurant from 1976 to 1983. She also worked at Monsanto for over 30 years.
Mrs. Padgett was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Macie Sikes; two brothers, James Sikes and Wyatt Sikes; and two sisters, Earline Lee and Christine Howell.
She is survived by two sons, Rick (Peggy) Padgett of Encoree, SC and Keith Padgett of Pensacola, FL; one daughter Karen (Mike McNamara) Tucker of Tallahassee, FL; one brother, Pete Sikes of St. Augustine, FL; one sister, Voncile Beckel of St. Augustine, FL; and five grandchildren, Ricky Padgett II, Brittany Pruitt, Mallory Tucker, Matthew Tucker and Noah Padgett and one great granddaughter Abagail Padgett.
Pallbearers will be Sean Ramirez, Joshua Yates, Gary Ward, Steven Caraway, Wayne McMullen, Dave Griffin and Keith Padgett.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 pm on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534. The funeral service will be from 3:30 to 4:30 following the visitation at the same location. Burial will follow at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens. Reverend Brian Nott will officiate.
