Joanne S. Gamewell, age 80, went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinsons.
Joanne was born in Butler, PA on December 23, 1932 to Edward and Emma Sutherland. She graduated from Butler High School and then joined the Navy, where she met the man of her life. That is when she raised a family of three daughters and two sons. Whether it was sports, Scouting or any school activity, Joanne was very active with her children's endeavors. She was better known for her crocheting talent. There was not a Christmas that went by that she didn't give her children and grandchildren something she crocheted throughout the year.
