On December 31, 1944, Lurana McIntosh was born to Douglas and Nickie Lee McIntosh in Pine Apple, Alabama. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at First Baptist Church, Pine Apple, Alabama. After moving to Pensacola she joined St. Peter's Baptist Church.
Lurana graduated from Pine Apple Sr. High School, class of 1962. She was a compassionate person and enjoyed caring for others and exemplified this by working as a Health Care Assistant. Lurana had a passion for doing crafts. She made afghans as gifts for relatives and friends.
On September 29, 2013, the Lord in His infinite wisdom, commissioned His angels to escort Lurana into His presence. She was greeted by her parents, Douglas and Nickie Lee McIntosh, her brother, MSG Eddie McIntosh and her sister, Helen McIntosh Gainey.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Kelvin McIntosh, and D'Andre McIntosh, Pensacola, Florida, two daughters, Karen McIntosh, Pensacola, Florida and Karal McIntosh, Clarksville Tennessee, a sister Gloria (Billy) Brent, Pensacola, Florida, three brothers, Douglas (Gwendolyn) McIntosh, Columbus, Georgia, Marcus (Mildred) McIntosh, Chicago, Illinois, Wilbert (Eloise) McIntosh, Matteson, Illinois, grandchildren; Pierre Marquis McIntosh, Glorion Hellan McIntosh, Yayshawn McIntosh and D'Andre McIntosh Jr., great grandson, Nemeseo Pierre Soller, two aunts, Lettie Underwood, and Zadie Andrews, one uncle, Johnny Lewis, a sister-in-law, Fannie McIntosh, a devoted cousin, Valencia Johnson, The Suggs Family, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2012 at Greater Union Baptist Church, 1300 North Guillemard Street. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Tracy Morton Memorial Chapel.
