Marco Antonio Fuentealba, Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 1, 2014 in Pensacola, FL. He was born on April 8, 1934 in Bulnes, Chile, the 3rd youngest of ten children, all raised on the family's dairy farm.
In 1957, Marco came to the United States to live with a cousin in New Jersey. He soon joined the US Army and served for two years. In 1960 he married fellow Chilean Silvia Espinosa, a nurse, and they settled down in a New Jersey suburb.
Marco had successful sales careers at Olivetti and SCM and was eventually transferred to Ellicott City, Maryland where he continued to raise his family. Very soon thereafter he started his own office supply business that thrived until he retired and moved to Milton, Florida in 2004.
Marco was a Good Samaritan, a beloved neighbor, and gifted gardener. He enjoyed playing soccer, was an accomplished photographer, and he loved to sail on the Chesapeake Bay. After moving to Florida he enjoyed tending to his fruit trees, garden, cooking, and spending time with his beloved grand- daughters.
He is survived by his children, Marco, Jr., and Marta, his daughter-in-law, Kristen; his granddaughters, Adriana and Antonia (Toni), and his loving family in Chile. A memorial service to celebrate his jubilant life is planned for 11am on Tuesday, June 10, at Hemmingway's at Pensacola Beach, FL. A reception will follow.
