Mary Anderson Yonkers was born May 20, 1924 in Taunton, Mass. to Grover Cleveland and Alice Elizabeth Weeks Anderson, died October 16, 2011 after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Hecke Yonkers, and brothers Kenneth W. and Donald P. and sister, Rita Anderson.

Mary and her family moved to Florida in 1933. After attending the school of Nursing under U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps in Pensacola, she spent 40 years as an RN. She attained her goal to be Operating Room Nurse Supervisor at Sacred Heart Hospital. Affiliations include Fleet Reserve Auxiliary and VFW Unit #4051 Colorado Springs.

She will be missed greatly by surviving family members and friends.

The funeral service will be at Barrancas National Cemetery on Monday, December 19, 2011 in Pensacola, Florida at 9:30am.

Mary was one of the kindest, dearest people I have ever had the joy of calling a friend. Her smile could warm the coldest day and her positive outlook on life could lift anyone's spirit. She will be dearly missed by anyone one's path she crossed on her life journey.
