MILDRED "MILLIE" BRANTLEY
1929 - 2014
Mildred "Millie" Brantley, 84, of Pensacola, passed away, Friday, April 25, 2014.
Millie was born July 12, 1929 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late Louie and Mae Dismukes. She was a graduate of Troy University and a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society. Before moving to Pensacola in 1970, she taught school in Atlanta and Birmingham. After moving to Pensacola she was active in several clubs, did volunteer work at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital and West Florida Medical Center. Millie was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Molino Homemakers, Molino Historical Society and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She never met a stranger and loved people.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Don; mother and father, three brothers and two sisters.
Millie is survived by daughters, Donna Pugh of Molino and Brenda Lewis of Pensacola; sisters, Totsye Walker, Gwyn Diamond, Tulah Wise (Mack); many much loved nieces and nephews;
her special grandpuppy, Sassy and many special grandkitties.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2014 at the crosses in Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jimmy Dees officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday, April. 28, 2014 at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home.
