Mildred Gail Freeman "Millie"


Mildred Gail Freeman, age 70 of Pensacola, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 26, 2013 after a long illness. Millie served many years as a caregiver at Azalea Trace and was a devoted wife, mother, great-grandmother and friend to all of those that knew and loved her. She loved fishing at Lake Panasoffkee, vacationing in the Great Smokey Mountains and spending time with her family and friends. Millie's hobbies were cake decorating, working in the garden and cooking for her family.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Catherine Taylor; her husband, James Franklin Freeman; brothers, Leroy Taylor, Jr., Walker Taylor, Hubbard "Buddy" Taylor, Eddie Taylor and sister, Jeanette Coleman.

Millie is survived by her children, Paula Cartwright and Willard "Billy" Cartwright; step-children, Ronnie (Vera) and Richie Freeman; grandchildren, Nicole, Misty, Megan, Kristen (Corey) and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Caleb and Tyler; siblings, Johnny (Brenda) Taylor, Mae Carroll, Christine (Robert) Freeman and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, 100 Beverly Parkway with Pastor Glen Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel one hour prior to the services on Tuesday.

Active pallbearers will be Nicholas Cartwright, Jake Alley, Robby Freeman, Matthew Freeman, Kenny Bolton and Johnny Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Willard Cartwright, Robert Freeman, Dempsey Freeman, Johnny Taylor, Billy Freeman and John Freeman.

The family would like to thank all of the West Florida Hospital nurses and staff, both Drs. Denby and Stallings for all the love and care given to Millie and our family during these past weeks. May God bless you. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 North 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504.
