Myrtle Detzel Obituary

Mrs. Louise Detzel, age 86, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 21, 2011, surrounded by her family at Covenant Hospice.
Mrs. Detzel was a native and longtime resident of Pensacola, FL. She was employed by Monsanto for 18 years. Louise was a very special lady who enjoyed worshipping and serving her Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved shopping, fishing and going to church.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Minnie Silcox; two sons, Wayne and Alton Ellis; grandson, Corry Ellis.
Left to treasure her memories are her devoted husband of 50 years, Martin Walter Detzel; three children, Jane Garrett, Rhonda (Gene) Shelby and Darrell Detzel many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, July 24, 2011 until funeral services begin at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Jake Clayton, Matthew Detzel, Christopher Simmons, Mitch McCall, Larry Garrett and Ronnie Silcox.
Honorary pallbearers are Shane Garrett, Ray Johnson and Melvin Silcox.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Joyce Goldenberg Covenant Hospice in memory of Myrtle Louise Detzel.

Aunt Louise's smile always brightened a room. She always knew how to make you feel loved. I am truly going to miss seeing her smiling face. I'm sorry for her passing but know she is smiling on the other side. I will keep the family in prayer.

Mrs. Detzel was like a second mother to me growing up in the neighborhood. I have many fond memories of her. My thoughts are with the family.
