Norma Luckie-Gibson Fijol, 81, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012.
She was a native of Pensacola and was born on March 8, 1931. Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church for over 30 years, and was at one time a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Warrington. Norma worked for Gayfers in Pensacola, and had also lived in San Antonio, Houston and Euless, TX and had worked for Masury of Columbia in Dallas, TX. She enjoyed church, Wednesday morning Bible class, OWLS, sewing, crocheting, knitting, ceramics, playing bunco and seeing plays at Pensacola Little Theatre.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Walter T. Fijol; a son, Vance W. Gibson; her father, Herbert Luckie; her mother, Mary E. Luckie-Kellough; a brother, Gene T. Luckie; a sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and William "Bill" Nunes.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol (John "Bill") Mankins of Pensacola, FL; a son, David Gibson of New Mexico; granddaughter, Jennifer (Allen) Netzer; a grandson, Jonathan Mankins; great granddaughters, Denali and Nokomis Netzer; great grandson, Chancellor Netzer; a brother, Curtis Luckie; a sister-in-law, Era Daniels of Port St. Joe, FL; step-daughters, Carrie Souza and children, Vicki (John) Dempsey and children and Sandy (Danny) Anfenson; a special friend, Don Koch and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Visitation will be held 5-7pm Monday, September 3, 2012 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 10:30am Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Stephen Linck officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 6601 N. 9th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504.
