Peggy Bray, 78, of Pensacola, passed away on December 3, 2012.
She was born on February 11, 1934 in Rome, GA to William and Willie Brown.
Peggy retired from the Escambia County School Board after 19 ½ years. She started out as a cafeteria worker and worked her way up to management. She was the manager of Brentwood Elementary School until she retired in 1998. Everyone loved the food in the cafeteria when Peggy was there! She was kind-hearted and pulled money out of her own pocket to feed underprivileged children. Peggy loved the casinos, bingo, and riding in fast cars, especially her son's corvette.
She has joined her husband, Marvin Eugene Bray, who passed away in 2001.
Peggy is survived by her children, Joseph A. Earwood, Cynthia Lauren Bray, and Shelly Caroline Bray; grandchildren, Joseph A. Earwood, Jr. "Dallas", USN Petty Officer Second Class Drue E. Earwood, USN Petty Officer Third Class Derek M. Earwood, Jennifer E. Brumbelow, Carmen N. Hatfield (Austin), Crystal R. Velazquez (Xavier); seven great-grandchildren who were her heart; and sister, Nellie Ernst, 89.
Pallbearers will be Dallas Earwood, Rodney Archer, Kevin Raley, Chris Cochran, Bill Greene, and Joey Braswell. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Stephen Bast, Dr. William Shanahan, Jace Brumbelow, and Kash Brumbelow.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Trahan Family Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. also at the funeral home with internment following at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
