Raymond J. "Ray"
1937 - 2013
Raymond J. Vandenburg "Ray", age 75, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went home to be with his loving Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Ray was born in Cassopolis, MI October 1, 1937 and lived in Michigan until 1978 when he and his family moved to Pensacola. He served in several ministries teaching children in Sunday school for over 50 years and recently participated in Good News Club with members of his home church Pine Forest Estates Baptist and taught and preached with the Rock of Ages prison ministry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, brother and two beautiful granddaughters. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 yrs., Toby, children Beckie, Cathy, Julie (Dave), Jonathan (Jame') and grandchildren Ryan, Megan, Johanna, Gordie, Dana'e and Christy. Also a brother Darrell.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Peter Bercz, many other health providers and especially all the wonderful staff at Covenant Hospice for their loving care of Ray as he passed from this life.
Both visitation and service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at the Pine Forest Estates Baptist Church, 2550 W. 9 Mile Rd., Pensacola. Visitation for all friends is from 1-2 p.m. followed by a 2 p.m. service. Graveside service will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
