Richard Vondenkamp Obituary
Richard Lee "Rick"

Vondenkamp

1954-2012

Rick Vondenkamp, 58, of Pensacola, passed away Thursday, September 6, at his home with his loving wife and family by his side. As we mourn his passing, we are also grateful for having known this truly gentle man.

Rick was born in Lincoln, NB on 3/8/54 and was a Nebraska resident for much of his life before relocating to Pensacola. He attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and was a life long Cornhusker fan. College football Saturday will not be the same without Rick. However, when we watch the Huskers play, he will surely be in our thoughts and a few toasts are sure to follow.

Rick is welcomed into heaven by his father, Jerry Vondenkamp, his father and mother-in-law, Tony and Dorothy Wong, and his two brothers-in-law, Michael and Ryan Wong.

Rick is survived by his wife Joyce Vondenkamp; daughters, Deidra Vondenkamp and Brittney Meadows (Charlie); three grandchildren, Anisha and Kristina Vondenkamp and Aiden Meadows.

Rick is also survived by his mother, Betty Vondenkamp. In addition, he is survived by two sisters, Vic Cary (Bill), and Jayne Riggs (Mark); three brothers, Mark Vondenkamp (Jan), Pat Vondenkamp (Cindy), and Jim Vondenkamp (Michelle); a sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Jimmy Burnette. Nieces and nephews include, Matt and Pat Cary, Nathan Riggs, Danny Riggs with wife Sharlyn and son Levi, Jeffrey, Jenny and Ellie Vondenkamp, Wesley and Natalie Vondenkamp, Jack and Claire Vondenkamp, John Wong and wife Katie and son Ethan, Adam Wong, Joshua and Justin Mathews and Jonathan Burnette.

Family and friends will celebrate Rick's life beginning with visitation on Tuesday, September 11, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home on Beverly Parkway from 5-7 P.M. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 13, at Little Flower Catholic Church at 10 A.M.

The family wishes to thank the dedicated nurses of Emerald Coast Hospice, especially Cheryl, for their compassionate care of Rick. We also are thankful to all friends who have been so supportive, loving and giving, during Rick's illness. May God bless you all.

FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME SOUTH, 100 Beverly Parkway is in charge of arrangements. You may express your condolences online at fcfhs.com.
