Sylvia Anne Jimmerson Anderson, age 71, of Pensacola, FL, passed away Sunday October 23, 2011. She was born January 12, 1940 in Brown's Crossroads, Alabama to the late David "O.B." Jimmerson and Mattie Lou Outlaw Jimmerson.
Sylvia graduated from Ozark High School in 1957 and attended Pensacola Junior College. Nana loved her children, grandchildren, family and friends with all her heart. She was an opinionated, independent, free sprit who enjoyed a cold beer, getting her solar battery charged by the sunshine, discussing politics and listening to FOX News and talk radio. Her years spent living on Perdido Key were the happiest of her life. She spent her days gathering shells and sun-bathing, and her nights in front of a bonfire laughing and stargazing with family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Amy (Joe) Anderson Bajjaly, Eric (Colleen) Anderson , and Tricia Anderson; five grandchildren, Chase, Sylvia, Kathryn, Suzy and Noah; sisters, Addie Jimmerson of Ozark, AL and Trisha (Doug) Elliott of Pensacola, FL and brother, Jim (Sheree) Jimmerson, Pensacola, FL; and many other friends. She was preceeded in death by her parents and brothers, Sam and Don Jimmerson. Special thanks to Covenant Hospice nurses Carolyn, Margaret and Kay, Dr. Herbert Gannon and Dr. Jennifer Miley for your support during mom's illness.
A private "Celebration of Sylvia's Life" will be Friday October 28, 2011 at Big Lagoon State Park . The family will have visitation Wednesday October 26, 2011 from 4-6 PM at her daughter Amy's home 6098 E. Cambridge Way, Pace, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 North 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504. Condolences may be made to the family at www.nationalcremation.com.
