Stephen O. Pope, Master Sergeant USAF Retired, was born September 11, 1937, and died January 17, 2014. He was born in Columbus, Georgia, and moved to Pensacola shortly after retiring in 1976.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; brother, Philip; step-brother, Jackie; step-sister, Janis; daughter, Lynn; son, James; grandchildren, Chris and Jessica; great grandchildren, Sebastian and Ava Lynn; step-sons, Mark and Brad; and step-daughter, Robbin.
During his years in the Air Force, he traveled all around the world as a Fuel Superintendent. Steve had many interests. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. He liked to fish, bowl, golf, and watch birds at their feeder. He played a mean game of Scrabble and was a big time Auburn football fan. He also liked to go for drives. He made some of the best steaks and roasts on his grill. He loved sweets and ice cream. He also loved to tell jokes.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and will be greatly missed.
The funeral was held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Thursday, January 23rd.
