1945 - 2014

Richard Lee Brant, 68, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014. Born in Canton, Ohio, he resided locally for the past 48 years. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. For 30 years, he was employed by Gulf Power. His organizations include Power Squadron where he taught safe boating courses; IBEW, Sunday School Teacher, Head of Men's Fellowship; worked in Bus Ministry for many years and anything to do for the service of God.

Preceded in death are his parents, Hugo J. and Maxine E. Brant; sister, Marie Elaine Brant; sister and brother-in-law, Deloris and Buddy Linton and his mother-in-law whom he dearly loved, Dimples Mabire.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 46 years, Anna Brant; sons, Danny R. Engle and Isaac T. Brant, Sr. (Anne); grandson, Cody R. Engle; granddaughter, Hydie N. Engle; grandsons, Timmy Brant, Jr. and Dalton R. Engle; father-in-law whom he dearly loved, Herbert Mabire, Sr.; brother-in-law, Herbert Mabire, Jr. (Debbie); nephews, Herbie Mabire and Jonathon Mabire; nieces, Kelly Howard (Terry) and Gina Hunley; many more nieces and nephews; special in-laws, Elvis and Patricia Levoy and Elizabeth Levoy; special in-law's grandkids, Wayne and Megan Isakson (Karlie, daughter).

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the funeral home

Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.

Special thanks are extended to Pastor Ken and Vickie Johnson, Harry and Betty Mason, Jacob Kent, Nick and Dara Hollifield, Rev. Bill Hieden, Rev. Thomas Barnes, Bill McCloud, Rev. Tommy Coleman, Rev. Bill Zugelor and all the wonderful church family of Eastside Assembly of God; Covenant Hospice, especially nurses, Annie Moultrie and Karen Hayden. Larry Swindell and all of the Gulf Power/Crist Plant employees whom he dearly loved and were there for him.
