George Edward "Ed" Shehee, Sr.
1928 - 2014
George Edward "Ed" Shehee, Senior, 85, of Pensacola passed away on March 16, 2014. Ed was born May 24, 1928 in Hurtsboro, Alabama, the son of Aylesberry (Jack) and Laulie Shehee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and the University of Tennessee Dental School. Ed established dental practices in DeFuniak Springs and in Crestview. He later had a practice in Chipley.
As a second career, Ed attended Candler School of Theology at Emory University and pastored two churches. He retired to Pensacola. Ed had a great love of animals, and he raised poultry, livestock, and dogs for most of his life.
Ed is survived by his son Ed Shehee Jr. and daughter-in-law Angela Shehee of Pensacola; and son Ron Shehee and daughter-in-law Carolyn Christman of Mebane, NC. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Joyelle and her husband Chad Callahan of Pensacola; Ges Shehee of Pensacola; Will and his wife Etta Shehee of Tororo, Uganda; Mac Shehee of Denver; and Francisco Shehee of Mebane; and eight great-grandchildren: Jay Callahan, Molly Callahan, Trent Callahan, Ella Callahan, and Lily Callahan; and Micaiah Shehee, Joycena Shehee, and Levi Shehee.
He is also survived by his dear friend Maxine Skelton of Pensacola.
Ed is survived by his brother Aylesberry (Jack) Shehee, Jr., and sister-in-law Anne of Richmond, Virginia; and his cousin Mimi and her husband Jim Connelly of Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his wife Eloise Craven Shehee in 2002, his brother Walter Shehee in 2008, and his great-granddaughter Lydia Rose Shehee in 2014.
A graveside inurnment service will be held Friday, April 4, 2014 at 10am at Bayview Memorial Park in Pensacola. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the
