Bennie L. Robbins, 66, of Pensacola, passed away after a recent illness Sunday, May 11, 2014.

Bennie Louis Robbins "Paw-Paw" was born on January 31, 1948, in Pensacola, FL. He attended J. Lee Pickens Elementary School, Washington Junior High School and graduated from Washington Senior High, class of 1965. Upon graduation, Bennie attended Florida A&M University where he majored in History and graduated in 1969. He began his teaching career in 1970 at Warrington Middle School. He taught History/Social Studies and was also the Basketball and Track coach. In 1972, he married Patricia Wills in Cantonment, FL. After 35 years of dedication to countless children, he retired from the Escambia County School District in 2005. After retirement, he moved on to the next stage of his life as a dedicated grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Willie Robbins Sr., Brother, Willie L. Robbins, and Sisters-in-law, Barbara Robbins and Odessa Felton. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Patricia Robbins, his children Kayla (Derrick) Milligan, and Bennie Jr., and Stepson, Carl Bryant Jr. His loving Mother, Martha Robbins. Sixteen grandchildren; Carla, Padra, Jalen, La' Damian, Derrick, Bennie III, Autaneak, Da'Brianna, La'Jayson, Deondre', Aziah, La'Jayven, Jalaya, Nija, Kyla, and Desmond. Three great-grandchildren. One sister, Linda Algee (Van ); one brother, Fredrick (Blanche) Robbins. Three sisters-in-law; Cassandra (Archie) Logan, Donna Moton, and Beverly Gulley; and two brothers-in-law; Peter Riley and Samuel Felton. Also left to treasure his memory is a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and the many children that knew and loved him.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 1:00pm at Damascus Road Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Bernard C. Yates officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Viewing will be on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Joe Morris and Son Funeral Home.
