Charles O'Gwynn Smith

Charles O. "O'Gwynn" Smith, 67, of Munson, Florida, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 8, 2014.

O'Gwynn was born in Crestview, Florida . He was an avid fisherman and hunter and known to most of his hunting buddies as "19." He served in the US Marines and was a Vietnam Veteran.

He is preceded in death by his Mother, Ida McCranie; Father, Columbus Smith; Step-Father, Felix Summerlin; and sister, Nitchie Smith McDaniel.

Survivors include a son Charlie Smith of Seymour, Tennessee; daughters, Tawnya Warner-Hudson (David) of Clarksdale, Arizona and Gwynn Smith (Jamie Sauls) of Milton, Florida; Brother, Al Summerlin of Milton, Florida; and Sister, Phyllis Hutchins (Buck) of MacClenny, Florida. Grandchildren: Tanya, Nicole, Devin, Kaylyn, Haley, Charlie, Cody, Ethan, Heather, Kylee, Zac and Tanner; and four Great- Grandchildren. Special friends: Randy and Debbie Cooley.

Funeral services for O'Gwynn Smith will be Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Blackwater Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Alton Nixon officating. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery, Munson, Florida, with Marine Honors.

Pallbearers will be: Mayhew Brake, Kenny Herring, Brandon Herring, Greg Cotton, Kenny Baxley and Chubby Locklin. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jim Johnson, Gary Cabaniss, Duwood Mulford, Roger Hardy, Raymond Morris and Westel Cabaniss.

Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, has been entrusted with arrangements.
