Mary Lucius Turpin
Mary Lucius Turpin, 90, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014.
Mary was born in Birmingham, AL on November 3, 1923. She graduated from Howard College in Birmingham in 1945. After the war she worked in the drafting department of the Curtiss-Wright Airplane Company. In 1958 she married Dave Turpin in Birmingham. Mary and Turp were married for 56 years.
In 1967 Mary and Turp moved to Pensacola with their daughter, Emily. Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Pensacola Women's Club. She volunteered throughout Pensacola in a variety of ways. She loved to swim at Pensacola Junior College and play bridge with her friends. She loved her husband Turp, her daughter Emily, and her beautiful grandchildren. We miss her so much.
Mary is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Stewart Lucius and her mother, Mary Alice Lucius of Birmingham, AL.
Mary is survived by her husband, David H. Turpin of Pensacola, FL; daughter, Emily T. Ray (Kenny) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; brother, Thomas Lucius (Kathryn) of Waverly, AL; grandson, Christopher Ray of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; granddaughter, Samantha Ray of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; and her nephew, Tommy Lucius of Birmingham, AL.
A Memorial Visitation will be held 2-4 pm Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.

The family would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Vaughn, neighbors for 47 years, for looking after Mary and Turp and for being such great friends.
