Godofredo "Fred" Varias



Godofredo Rogando Varias, 79 of Pensacola, FL was called home to Heaven on the morning of August 4th, 2014. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 21 years and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. Fred was a loyal patron of Little Flower Catholic Church. In March 2013 he celebrated 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife Natividad. He was the loving father of 4 children and a proud Lolo of 13 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

Fred was preceded in death by his father, Juan; brothers, Mario, Ricardo, and Edilberto; and sister, Soledad. He is survived by his wife, Natividad; mother, Rosa who will celebrate her 100th birthday in January 2015; daughter, Maria "Armyn" Thompson (James - Kimberly Telhiard (Mark - Sarah Rose, Katlyn, Emma), Jennifer, Devyn ); sons, Michael (Aleli - Rachael, Lauren, Matthew), Edward (Angela - Nathan, Nicholas, Taylorann, Noah) and Daniel (Ashley - Avery, Miles, Hudson); nieces, Hazel Zacarias and Maika Varias; siblings, Conchita Salandanan, Antonio, Anita Dimacuha, Rosalinda Mendoza, Dean, and Leoncia Mapili; and an extended group of loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 15, 2014, 11:00am at Little Flower Catholic Church followed by burial with Military Honors at 12:30pm, Barrancas National Cemetery.
