King, Lawrence (Larry) John, 85, died peacefully in his sleep August 8, 2014 in Florida. He was born and Christened June 10, 1929, in Saint Louis, Missouri. After high school he served in the Army and Marine Corps before starting a 25 year career with the Air Force where the bulk of his assignments were in Special Activities, Air Intelligence, and Special Operations. He served in the 1st Air Commando Wing and retired as CMSgt, Intelligence Operations Superintendent in 1976.

After earning a Masters Degree in 1980, he retired again in 1991 from the Agency for International Development (AID) at the rank of GS-13.

Overseas tours included: Germany, Korea, Japan, Vietnam/Laos, Dominican Republic, Sudan, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Haiti.

He was the 1st recipient of the Tactical Air Command "Outstanding Intelligence NCO" award.

Decorations include Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, and numerous other medals, campaign, unit, and marksmanship badges.

He is survived by his two children, four grandchildren and much loved by Hei Kyong King.
