Ruby Lee Polk

Ruby Lee Polk of Milton, Florida, passed from this life and went home to be with her Lord & Savior Sunday morning, August 17, 2014.

Mrs. Polk was a member of the Welcome Assembly of God Church in East Milton where she served as the pianist, adult Sunday School teacher, church secretary, and board appointed treasurer. She also served on the church vision committee helping develop a long-range plan for the future growth of the congregation. She was as a Teacher's Aid in the Business Education Department at Milton High School for 13 years until her retirement in 1983.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Hubert C. Polk.

She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Clifton Lassiter; one sister, Pearl Maddox; a daughter and son-in law, Linnie & Joe Hamel, of Milton, Florida; a son and daughter-in law, Phillip and Carla Polk, of Milton, Florida; five granddaughters and four great grandchildren.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was an amazing woman of character and strength with her faith being paramount in her life. She will be sorely missed.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel, with Rev. Bo Senterfitt and Rev. Johnny Williams officiating. Burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Jay. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel.
