A LEGACY OF LOVE

Cynthia C. Williams a longtime resident of Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2009. She was the youngest of eight children born to Mr. and Mrs. George Raspberry of Bayou La Batre, Alabama.
Her family moved to Mobile, Alabama while she was a young girl. She went to school in Mobile and later met her husband and life partner John Henry Williams, Sr. They were married on August 29, 1945.
In 1953 the couple moved to 1921 N. 7th Avenue in Pensacola, Florida, where they raised their family of four and were actively involved in the enhancement of their surrounding community. On October 10, 1989 John H. Williams Sr. was called home to the Lord. Cynthia continued to live at their Escalona Avenue home until 2005. She then moved to Benton House Assisted Living Facility in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, and later to The Blake Assisted Living Facility of Gulf Breeze, Florida.
While living on 7th Avenue Cynthia became a member of St. John Divine Missionary Baptist Church and professed her faith in Christ. In 1982 she retired from the Florida State Board of Health and continued to serve in several charitable and church organizations. She truly enjoyed giving to others and often made dolls for cancer patients, as well as providing food to those less fortunate. She was a member of the St John Divine Missionary Baptist Church Usher Board and the Plummie Rudolph Mission Circle. She planted many seeds of kindness. Her peaceful and gentle spirit was forever present. Her Legacy of Love will forever live.
Cynthia was devoted to her family. Her loyalty and commitment was unwavering. She has stood firmly in faith and was destined to Reign with her Heavenly Father. She leaves to lament her passing: one daughter and son-in law, Mariam A. and Ricky Williams of Navarre, Florida: three sons and two daughter-in-laws, Herb and Surat Williams of Anniston, Alabama, John H. Jr. and Camellia Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Albert Williams of Columbus, Georgia.; thirteen grandchildren, Dawaine, Maurice, Johnathan, Eric, Tyrome, Leslie, Tiffany, Albert Jr., Jeff, Dawn, Percy, Thanarat, and Penny.; ten great-grandchildren, John Anthony, Fatima, Janisia, Jayla, Jichele, Reid Jacob, Vida, Joreal, Taffaney and Penelope.; one sister, one brother, and two sister-in-laws, Lucille Graves of Mobile, Alabama, James and Bessie Raspberry of Evergreen Alabama, and Frances Raspberry of Mobile, Alabama.; a special daughter Debra M Saunders of Pensacola, Florida and a dedicated host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Celebration of Cynthia's Home Coming and Wake at 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM respectively on July 20, 2009 at St. John Divine Missionary Baptist Church located at 620 E. Jordan St Pensacola, Fl. 32503.
Interment will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery
