1911 - 2010

Margaret Griffin Hall, 98, of Pensacola, went to be with her Savior and Lord on Saturday, February 13, 2010. She passed away peacefully at her residence at The Haven of Our Lady of Peace.
Margaret was born April 23, 1911 in Rocky Mount, NC. She was the daughter of James (Jim) Frederick Griffin and Carra Davis Griffin.
After high school graduation, Margaret studied nursing in New York and Washington, D.C. where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. Margaret did private duty nursing for three years and during that time met and married Dr. Y. L. Hall, Jr. and they had one son, Y. L. Hall, III (Bo). Miami was home from 1938-1980 when she moved to Pensacola, Florida to be closer to her son. Margaret was a member of McIlwain Presbyterian Church. Margaret had a love and appreciation for all things God created. She marveled at all the discoveries and technology during her 98 years and until her death, her mind was sharp and her smile ever present. She was amazing in her wit and wisdom, and an inspiration to her family and all who knew her, young and old alike.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband and sisters, Vivian, Mary Ruth, Louise and Carolyn; her brothers, Haverson, Phez, Roland and Clarence.
Survivors include her son, Bo and wife, Carolyn; grandson, Cameron and his children, Hunter and Alicia of Baton Rouge, LA, Heather (Gordon) and children, Sarah Margaret, Emma, Benjamin, Ellie and Jacob, of Montgomery, AL, and Brad Hayes (Ashley) of Dayton, OH; and loving nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff and caregivers that so lovingly cared for Margaret at The Haven, and a special thanks to Dr. Retzloff. The family also thanks the McIlwain Women's Ministries and East Hill Baptist Church WMU ladies for their visits, gifts, flowers and cards that Margaret always enjoyed.
