Billy Glenn Jackson, 59, of Jay, died Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.

Mr. Jackson was born December 25, 1950 in Jay. He graduated from Jay High School and went on to serve in the United States Army for more than 20 years. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Jackson retired from the Army in 1993. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ewell C. and Henry Jackson; three sisters, Hazel Godwin, Bernice Godwin and Grace Nelson; and two brothers, Richard "Buck" Jackson and Henry Jackson, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Jackson of Jay; one son, Jeremy Jackson of Jay; one daughter, Heather (Matthew) Wilburn of Santa Teresa, N.M.; five brothers, Ray (Oakie) Jackson of Elkton, Md., Kenneth (Theresa) Jackson of Lake City, and Leon (Linda) Jackson, Lawrence (Donna) Jackson and Thomas (Mabel) Jackson, all of Jay; three sisters, Doris (Billy) Lee of Pace, and Deborah (Carlos) Hawthorne and Elise Diamond, both of Jay; one granddaughter, Tracie Jackson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Jay Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date at Barrancas National Cemetery on Naval Air Station Pensacola.
