Mr. Charles Van "Charlie" Kilgore

Mr. Charles Van "Charlie" Kilgore, age 70, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at his Flomaton residence.

Mr. Kilgore was born in Oklahoma City, OK and had been a resident of Flomaton for the past 35 years, coming from Odessa, TX. He owned and operated CharCo for a number of years; was the co-founder of the Alabama Oilman's Golf Invitational and an avid Fox News Fan. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Kilgore was preceded in death by his son, Randall Clay Kilgore; a brother, Carl R. Kilgore; a sister, Patricia Burns; and a grandson, Brandon Jones.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Alma Lewis of Sedalia, MO; his wife, Mrs. Daphne Ward Huss Kilgore of Flomaton, AL; two sons, Jeff (Mary) Kilgore of Mobile, AL and Joey (Darlene) Huss of Flomaton; three daughters, Sandra Jones of Pensacola, FL, Jennifer (Todd) Buckley of Canoe, AL, and Pamela (James) Jones of of Flomaton, AL; one sister, Darlene Stevenson of Sedalia, MO; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Garland Chaudron and David McIlwain.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Mr. Garland Chaudron officiating.

Visitation will be held at Craver's Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Active Pallbearers: John Watson, Dale Chavers, Josh Caraway, Stacey Godwin, Woody Seevers, James Porter.

Honorary Pallbearers: Garland Chaudron, William Dudley, David McIlwain, Greg McCall.
