WAYNE JOHNSON

1930 - 2012



Wayne Johnson went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 07, 2012. He was 82, born in Noma, Florida on January 13, 1930. He graduated from Bonifay High School in 1948. Wayne attended East Brent Baptist Church.

Wayne served in the U. S. Air Force from 1951-1956 as an air traffic controller. Upon moving to Pensacola, Florida he began his career with L&N (CSX) Railroad, where he was a flagman and conductor. He worked with the railroad for 40 years. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Ouida for 63 years. Wayne loved to fish and most of all loved his family. He was a loving and extraordinary father and grandfather.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Ouida I. Jonson; son, Garry W. (Susan) Johnson; daughter, Sharon (Michael) Jobe; five grandchildren, Christopher Rahn, Nicole Johnson, Bradford (Katie) Rahn, Candice Johnson and Cameron Johnson; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, M.C. Johnson; mother, Mattie Vanlandingham; and sister, Corrine Johnson Wells.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with Dr. Wesley Wachob officiating.

Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012 and from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
