Richard Allan Bisbee

1938 - 2012

Richard went home to be with the Lord on April 16, 2012.

He was born January 18, 1938 in Conneaut, Ohio to Raymond and Bertha Bisbee. He grew up in Cleveland and Euclid, Ohio and graduated from Euclid Junior High School in 1956. He worked for Nickel Plate Railroad from June 1956 to March 1957. He went to work for Ohio Bell March 1957 to January 1960 when he joined the United States Navy January 30, 1958 till January 29, 1962. He went back to work for Ohio Bell in 1962 then transferred to Pensacola 1963, he retired with 31 years of service. In 1970, he joined the Navy Reserves and retired as Navy Chief with 32 years service. He worked for the Escambia County EMS for 10 ½ years and Escambia County Road Prison for 10 years then retired from the State of Florida with 20 ½ years. He joined the West Pensacola Volunteer Fire Department March 1964 and worked his way up the ranks to Chief and retired as Assistant Fire Chief with 37 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Bertha Bisbee; brothers, Raymond, Charles, William and David; sister, Beverly; first wife, Dolly Bisbee; son, John; daughter, Patricia; great-granddaughter, Trinity.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Peggy Bisbee; sisters, Alice and Marilyn; children, Gary Simmons, Debbie (Jim) Harvey, DeeDee (Toby) Hobbs, Amanda, Rickey and Little Harry Penton; grandchildren, Crystal (Devon) Terry, Daniel Penton, Jessica (Jason) Gapuson, Christopher Harvey; great-grandchildren, Derek Terry, Justin and Isabella Gapuson and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 20, 2012 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 p.m. at the First Apostolic Church on Highway 90, Milton.

Going Home Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the church with Reverend Larry Webb and Reverend Jimmy Mitchell officiating.

Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens on Pine Forest Road.

Pallbearers will be his brothers from the First Apostolic Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Officers from the Escambia County Road Prison and the West Pensacola Fire Department.

Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
