Frances Louise Wyatt-Cooke was born on May 14, 1933 in Kansas City, Kansas to Elmore and Savannah Moore Horton. She departed this life on April 15, 2012. Both her parents, three brothers; James Leroy, Calvin (Jack), Elmore Jr. and sister, Shirley Hayden, preceded her in death.
Frances went on to become one of the first females confirmed as a Certified Industrial Developer in the United States. Her extensive career included; (70's) Director- Economic Development City of Kansas City, Missouri, Director -Venture Development/Community Development Corporation, (79-82) President - Community Equity Investments Inc.(CEII) - Community Development Corporation (CDC) and Developer/Financial Management Consultant/Pensacola, FL.
Frances semi retired in Pensacola, where she united with New Dimensions Christian Center and remained a faithful member until her passing. She was brilliant, witty and a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend as well as Momma Fran, Granny Fran and Chocolate Grandmother to countless others.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters; Carla Ross (Norm), Donna Jenkins, one son; Kevin Wyatt (Barbara), five grandchildren; Ronald Herren, Terrance Ross (Belinda), Caren Owens (Jake), Jacob Wyatt, Bethany Wyatt, one great grandson; Jabari Herren, two sisters; Bettie Young (Roy), Dorothy Thomas, extended Wyatt family and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
