Mary Pearl Rivers
Mary Pearl Rivers, age 92, of Pensacola, FL died on November 7, 2012 following a brief illness.
She was born on Dec. 29, 1919 in Selma, Al to the late Jack and Virginia Hartley and was united in marriage to George Rivers. To that union three children were born; King, Johnny, and Georgia Rivers. She was a faithful member of the Antioch Baptist Church, the "RedTop"s, and a devoted and loving mother to her children , grandchildren and church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents the late Jack and Virginia Hartley, Brother Earnest Hartley and son, Johnny Rivers.
She is survived by her son, King Edward Rivers (Carolyn); daughter, Georgia Lee Sunday (Jimmie);God child Johnie Johnson, grandchildren, Cynthia Witherspoon, Chinesa Sunday, Bridget Sunday, Starlet Thomas, Jimonica Geri, Carmen Rivers, Tonya Morris, Precious Rivers, Bridget Rivers, 15 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren. Special thanks to Dr. Tucker, Baptist Hospital, the Rosewood Manor Nursing Staff, and a special friend Voncile Brandon.
Friends may call at Joe Morris Funeral Home from 12 pm-7pm on November 11, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on November, 12, 2012 at Antioch Baptist church with Dr. Rev. Nathanion Smith Officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Gardens.
Joe Morris and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
