James T. "Bill" Alford
Bill Alford, age 87 of Pensacola passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013 in the hospital with his daughter, Carmen who was his longtime caregiver and his sister, Dottie at his side. Mr. Alford was born on October 24, 1925 in Santa Rosa County to Mamie Byrd and Fulton Alford. He retired from Phoenix Coatings as a commercial/residential painter. Mr. Alford was a loving father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, William Byrd and his loving wife of 61 years, Faye Alford.
He is survived by his children, Carmen Alford Merritt and Thomas W. Alford (Shelia); grandchildren, Lisa Herington (Ryan), Brandon Merritt (Stephanie) and Wesley Alford (Pam); great-grandchildren, Alex and Liam Herington, Ashtynn and Slate Alford; sisters, Dottie Straight and June Howe; several nieces and nephews, special friends and his little dog, "TeeBo."
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Pastor Bill Flannigan officiating. Interment will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
