The Guest Book is expired.
James Larry Cibula went to be with his father in heaven on April 18th, after a battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bohus and Cecilia Cibula, brothers, Richard and Joseph.
Jim grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and moved to Pensacola in 1964 to become a Navy Pilot, where he met his wife, Faye, of 47 years. After his active duty service in the Navy, he returned to Pensacola in 1976 and has lived here since. He retired from the Navy Reserves as a Commander in 1990 and was very proud of his service to his country. He went on to work many years in the local business community.
Jim was very active and enjoyed playing tennis as often as he could, right up to his illness. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his five grandchildren. His grandchildren loved their "mighty Grandpa". He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church for 37 years and served the church in many ways. He served in the Gulf Breeze Optimist Club for many years mentoring high school students. Saturdays and Sundays were often spent cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the Florida State Seminoles.
Jim is survived by his wife, Faye, three sons, Michael, Matthew (Catlin), and Clay (Paula), his grandchildren, Whit, Larkin, Jack, Maggie, and Lucy, and two brothers, Paul and Dale.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 21 from 5-7 P.M. and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 22, at 10 A.M. Both will take place at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Gulf Breeze.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Covenant Hospice. The family is so thankful for the loving care they provided.
