GASPER P. TRAPANI, JR.
1937 - 2013
Gasper P. Trapani Jr. (Smiley) of New Orleans, Louisiana died Saturday April 27, 2013 in Pensacola, Florida at the age of 75 from complications of a longtime illness.
Gasper was born in New Orleans on May 6, 1937, his parents Gasper V. Trapani and Elizabeth A. Trapani.
Gasper proudly served 26 years in the U.S. Army and retired in 1977. He was a Lifetime member of the Disable American Veterans Al Gray Chapter 23, Five Flags Amateur Radio Club (KB4OFA) and The Country Cousin Radio Club.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Carolyn M. Trapani of Pensacola FL; his children, Paul Trapani of Benbrook TX, Elizabeth McDaniel of Laneville TX and Robert Trapani of Pensacola, FL; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
There will be a Rosary at 5 pm on Tuesday April 30, 2013 at Oaklawn Funeral Home located at 619 North New Warrington Rd, Pensacola, Fl. followed by viewing for family and friends from 6-8 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church, 6495 Lillian Hwy, Pensacola Fl. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 12:30 followed by interment with full military honors at Barrancas National Cemetery.
