Mark Lynn McCrary of Birmingham passed away on May 2, 2013 at the age of 55.
He is survived by his parents, Douglas and Sara McCrary of Pensacola, his sister Laura McCrary Gasser and husband, John, his brother Charles McCrary and wife, Phyllis, nephews Doug McCrary and wife, Lisa, Alex McCrary and fiancée, Sara Kathryn, and best friend, Don Peterson, along with many uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends.
Mark was compassionate and loving. He was a gentle soul and everyone who came in contact with him felt his loving spirit. He was generous with his time and talents and willingly helped build, repair and renovate with countless friends. He leaves a legacy of friendship, generosity and love to all who knew him.
Mark loved his family deeply and was the baby of the three children, a role that he enjoyed even at 55. He stayed in touch with his aunts, uncles and cousins and was very close to the Peterson family. He was excited about many happy upcoming family events. Mark, we know you will still celebrate with us.
Mark had an innate talent for music which he developed at an early age to become an accomplished organist. He learned the art of tinkering from his engineering father and from his mother the gift of kindness and acceptance of others. He shared the McCrary sense of humor even in tough situations.
He was employed for more than 20 years at National Computer Print where he developed many friendships and was admired professionally and personally.
The family would like to thank the physicians and staff of the Brookwood Critical Care Unit for their dedication and professionalism in Mark's care.
Services for family and friends were held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1728 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209 at 11a.m. on Monday, May 6.
