Laurance A. Woollard Sr., age 84, passed away at his home the early morning hours of July 4, 2013.
Laurie, as he was affectionately known, was born in Chicago, IL and attended Morgan Park Military Academy and Northwestern University. He entered the Food Brokerage Industry working for T.M. Duche and Sons alongside his father. In 1964, he and Millie, the love of his life and wife of more than 40 years, founded the Woollard Company, Inc., continuing in the same business until retirement.
Laurie was an accomplished pilot, with over 18,000 flying hours, and an avid published writer who also enjoyed photography and music. He relocated to the Pensacola area in 2007 where he continued to enjoy his relationships with local musicians.
Laurie was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred A. Woollard and brothers, Robert Edward Woollard and Donald Edward Woollard, both World War II veterans.
Survivors include: his sons, Ernest Victor Woollard II (Pamela) and Laurance Allen Woollard Jr. (Melissa); grandchildren, Sarah, Rebecca, Alexis, Brittany, and Bryce; one great grandchild, Aaron Joseph; and his sister, Lorna Ann With.
Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Pensacola Beach Community Church with fellowship to follow.
