Margaret Godfrey Randall, born December 6, 1922 in Newberry, SC, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. At the tender age of 10, Margaret went to live at Connie Maxwell Children's Home in Greenwood, SC until the age of 18. At that time she joined the U.S. Navy and served as a WAVE. It was here that she met her future husband, Richard, who was also serving in the U.S. Navy. They wed and had three children. Margaret was a beloved wife and mother. Her faith in God was evident and serves as a testimony to many. Margaret had a compassionate and servant's heart. She attended the University of West Florida, earning a bachelor's degree in special education and then taught children with learning disabilities at Brown Barge and Ensley Elementary Schools for nearly 15 years.
Margaret was preceded in death by: her husband, Richard Paul Randall; her parents, Clarence and Ruth Godfrey; and her brothers, Roland and Dee Godfrey.
Survivors include: her children, Margaret Hope Randall of Pensacola, FL, Richard Paul Randall Jr (Letitia) of Olympia, WA, and Mark Wayne Randall (Kevin) of Managua, Nicaragua; her grandchildren, Heather Fournier, Colleen Randall, Jessica Randall, Amanda Randall, Sarah Randall, Leah Randall and Anna Randall; and her great-grandchildren, Cole Fournier, Alexis and Caroline Howell.
Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon until funeral service begins at 1:00 p.m. all on Friday, September 6, 2013 all at Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Nott officiating. Burial will follow in Newberry County, SC.
