Kate Tymes Channell, age 94, of Pensacola, FL, went to be with her Lord on September 6, 2013. Mrs. Channell was born August 25, 1919 in Edna, AL. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, James Doye Channell; her parents, Raymond Edward Tymes and Ola Elizabeth Tymes of Penacola; her brother, William Edward Tymes; and her son-in-law, Charles Handrahan. Mrs. Channell is survived by her four children, Pegi Strayer (John) of Clearwater, FL, Margie Shofner (Jerry), Carol Handrahan, all of Pensacola, FL, and David Channell (Cheryl) of Pace, FL; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Channell was a homemaker and a devoted and loving mother who will be greatly missed by all of her children. She was a longtime Hospital Auxilliary volunteer at West Florida Hospital, a member and S.S. teacher at Olive Baptist Church and, along with her husband and son, owned and operated Channell Construction Company for many years. Mr. & Mrs. Channell lived on Scenic Highway for over 40 years before moving to Homestead Village where she lived until her death.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 11 AM at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. Interment will follow in Bayview Memorial Park with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers, Parker Byrd, Chase Byrd, Hunter Channell, Phil Handrahan, Noah Channell, Shawn Handrahan, Shawn Handrahan, Jr., Brian Channell and Marty Messer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 6 until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 6479 Caroline Street, Suite B, Milton, Florida 32570. Condolences may be made to the family at
