He was born in Scobey, MT on May 26, 1918. Alex, as we endearingly know him, was a man who gave himself first to God, without compromise to Jeanie, his children, work and whatever capacity in which he was involved. Alex was accomplished in so many ways in his life. Alex was the 2nd of 4 children. He married the love of his life in Providence, RI more than 70 years ago. He was a WWII hero, with more than 5K flight hours, and had the honor of retiring as a Chief Petty Officer in 1957. In 1938-1939, Alex was 'crowned' as the 'Welterweight Champion of the Pacific Fleet'. Alex was a 'Speed Reading' Adjunct Prof. at Pensacola Junior (State) College for 17 years. He spent his summers giving back to the community teaching children how to improve their reading skills in 'Kids Kollege'. Alex also served 20 years in 'Civil Service' retiring in 1980. He was a 'Mediator' with the Florida State Court System. He was an avid golfer. He worked at Manheim Auto Auction until he was 91. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, Council 778, serving the less fortunate. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church for over 50 years and most recently a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He won the race with Joy.

Beloved and Devoted husband to his wife and 'Angel', Jeanie Alexander; a father's gift of love, compassion and encouragement to their 6 children and their spouses, Wilson McK "Woody" Alexander, Jr. (Barbara), Ronald Clinton "Deek" Alexander (Trish), Teddy Craig Alexander (Jan), Robyn Alexander Strickland (Buddy), Laurie Alexander Bush (Mike) and Kevin Alan Alexander; 16 grandchildren and their spouses; as well as 19 great-grandchildren; his brother, Clinton Alexander; sister, Marion Wooldridge and brother-in-law, Ronald Hall.
